Print & Environmental Design

Highlights for Children

I was tapped a handful of times to create promotional print pieces during my time at Highlights, including customer greeting cards, magazine cover wraps, and magazine-bound cross-marketing pieces. Working in print is a stretch opportunity for me, but I always really enjoy holding the tangible result. These pieces were all mailed to hundreds of thousands of magazine subscribers — a huge scope of reach and opportunity for significantly boosted revenue and awareness.

Big Red Rooster

As a design intern at Big Red Rooster, a Columbus retail design agency under JLL group, I assisted with the creation of multiple environmental graphics for a wide range of high-profile clients. This included Aldi grocery stores, Firehouse Subs restaurant, AmEx airport lounges, Hudson airport stores, a high-end bicycle shop, and more. Most notably, I designed a menu board for Firehouse Subs’ flagship location that was received so well that it’s being rolled out to many additional store locations across the country.

I also contributed to the design of interior and exterior signage for these clients, wall graphics, end cap signage, and more.

McGuffin Creative Group

I had the opportunity to work as a design intern for McGuffin Creative Group, a Chicago-based marketing and design agency, prior to my senior year of college. One of the main projects I completed that summer was a campaign for an annual client T-shirt giveaway. I designed the tee itself, as well as a handful of corresponding materials encouraging clients to order their free tees. This included a custom, die-cut direct mailer, envelopes and address labels, T-shirt packaging and tags, web pages for order placement, and emails to further the communications.
